Cameron McVey
Cameron McVey is an independent author. He’s been writing full-time since 2011. His current series is Lewis Hurdy: Small Town Smart Guy. It is a mystery trilogy. The first book is “Lewis Hurdy and a Little Bit of Greed.” The story is set in a small town in the Colorado Rockies and follows Lewis Hurdy, library guy, as he gets sucked into a series of strange events starting with the death of a local centenarian.
Before the Lewis Hurdy series, Cameron wrote the seven-book series - K.C. Hall: In Search of a Hollywood Ending. Those books center on a young starlet named K.C. Hall as she deals with the pressure of growing up under the Hollywood spotlight. Prior to that series, Cameron wrote several science fiction books including a trilogy (Nova Sol, Remnant Species and Altered Earth) and a number of stand alone books (Hold Still the Sky, Monsters of Utopia: a fairy tale manifesto and Saucerland). Those are fairly serious works. For a more comical read, check out “Mat the Cat” or “Danger Island.” His most recent science fiction work is “First Encounters.” He also has written two books in a still expanding vampire series, The Life and Undeath of Thomas Akla.
Cameron has, also, created his own standalone superhero universe. The name of that book is “The Curated Worlds.”
He occasionally updates his blog (cameronmcvey.substack.com) but promises to do so more often soon. No, really.
Cameron has been a panel member at FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention and appeared on the podcast MotherF***ker in a Cape. He often tells bad jokes and jokes that only amuse him. Often those two are the same.
His mother is a published poet and his father a world-class educator. He caught the writing bug from them at a very early age. He can remember scrawling short stories on scraps of paper in his bedroom late at night when he was supposed to be asleep.
His old job allowed him to travel the world. He has been to the Great Wall of China, Angkor Wat, the Taj Mahal, the Sahara Desert, Machu Picchu and countless other spots in Asia, Africa and South America. He has also traveled extensively throughout the United States and is, once again, living in the Colorado Rockies. He has been inspired by both his travels and all the people he's met and worked with along the way.
All his works are available on amazon.com.
