Science Fiction Is For Everyone

Looking back, looking ahead

October 23rd, 2022

Once again it’s been a while since I’ve attended to the blog here on my website. But this time I can say that I really, truly have been busy writing. Not just fake busy writing. If you take a look at the BOOKS section of the website, you’ll see that I’ve posted some new titles. Starting back in March (and I already commented on this in a previous post so excuse the repetition) I published the first in what will be a seven book series. The series is K.C. Hall – In Search of a Hollywood Ending. The first book is “We Are All K.C. Hall.”

I’m proud of that book. It’s a big shift for me in terms of writing. It’s contemporary and non-science fiction (mostly). When I published it, I thought, “Huh, that was interesting. Now it’s time to go back to science fiction.” But that did not happen. K.C. didn’t let that happen. She kept telling me her story and now – several months later – I am a few days away from publishing Book Five (K.C. Hall Looks to the Stars).

Five books since February (that’s when I started writing We Are All K.C. Hall).

I can’t quite believe it. That’s the fastest I’ve ever written anything. But it’s not only been fast. It’s been good, too. The best of both worlds for a writer. I actually tried to stop after the second book and go back to writing science fiction. I got fifty thousand words into a vampire book before I felt compelled to go back to K.C. Okay. Lesson learned. I’ll finish the series before I do anything else. At the pace I’m going, the last book (for now) in the series will come out sometime in late February/early March. That will be almost exactly a year from when I published “We Are All K.C. Hall.’

One year. Seven books.

Things are looking up.
